Before now, I had always thought I had strong opinions about friendship because most often, these opinions were unpopular amongst those around me. However, knowing that someone else holds similar opinions feels so good.
I feel like as we get older, most friendships we pick up become transactional as opposed to the innocent "I enjoy your company and that's that" nature of childhood friendships.
This was a beautiful read! I really resonated with this one. I happen to have read the Kendrick Lamar interview on Tems. It definitely was a vulnerable moment from both artistes and it moved me.
Yes yes yesss. Amazing piece, especially loved the "don't force it' part!
I would personally add: 1. Make sure to continue investing in/include your existing friendships while searching for new people, which is often overlooked and 2. Be authentic and truthful from the start so when you click with someone, you know it's for real. Diluting your real self may get you more friends but it'll be a waste of time in the end if you're looking for something that is actually meaningful <3
You are such a beautiful writer Tres. I was captivated by each sentence because i could see how each word was carefully curated to tailor the minds of your readers. Never stop writing!
This is wonderful!
Friendship shouldn’t be one sided. It’s to be filled with lots of love and understanding from the people. I’ve learnt more from this.
Beautiful read!

Thank you so much for the tips. They’re going to be so helpful!
Needed this. Been having difficulties making friends which led me to become really lonely.
But I’m working on it, I’m trying to be more open.
This piece just gave me more insights
I love you too! Have a great week ahead!
