This was such a wonderful piece to read! And this is coming from someone who struggles to read newsletters. I haven’t regretted subscribing to this particular one so far, so shout out to everyone involved🥰!
On serendipity, I can’t help but think of people whose childhoods were somehow marred by unfortunate occurrences or even the people around them, forcing them to become ‘sensible’ and guarded too quickly. I wonder if a child who didn’t really experience that carefree phase (or was consistently discouraged from doing so) can somehow find serendipity in their adulthood. I imagine it would be very difficult but I wonder if it is possible at all.
Thank you! I think it would be difficult too, but I also think the human mind is tremendously capable of surprising us where ability is concerned. It would take a lot of effort, and intentionality, but I think it's possible to change.
I just finished Abbot Elementary and mehn I wish I didn't. I just love the show and the beauty of education there.
Now this post, I was thinking of this, this morning. How do people have a clue of what to do? I remember that I entered tech simply because of curiosity but I've been stuck since. But this gave me another idea. And I think I will try it out. Don't mind how scattered this comment is. Thank you for writing this
and thank you for reading! i think for me, knowing what to do is simply by doing. it simplifies it for me. if i like doing something then i do more of it.
If I want to have a lot of experience, I need to actually seek it out. I think I'm beginning to make random decisions that will make my life a bit better.
I started a newsletter even though I haven't figured out what exactly I want to push out there and oh my God! I love it.
Now my next step will be planning outdoor activities for myself.
I love the 'marketers therapy' but I'm not a marketer. Can you recommend an intimate community for writers?
I am so proud of you for taking an active role in living life! That's amazing! As for intimate communities for writers, I don't have a lot of information on that : ( I will ask around and get back to you on this comment
As a strict, non-bending, 'everything must have an end-purpose' person, l'm going to unlock and enjoy the thrill of serendipity. Very needed advice, Treasure.
“while it is true that we should make the most of our lot in life, I cannot help but wonder whether that childlike willingness to run faster than our legs, and touch, and taste, and feel is still useful today, and can help us live better, more fulfilling lives as adults.” ♥️♥️♥️
Belated happy birthday to one of my favorite writers! I haven’t opened the app in a while, and this was such a good read. I also think that sensibility has made me feel lifeless (speaking as a 17-year-old who has no idea what to do with their life anymore). I'm so thankful I saw a TikTok post that included one of your articles. Ever since then, I’ve considered you one of my most fortunate and favorite “stumblings.” I really love that you mentioned how so many beautiful things can spring out of randomness. In the next few days, I’ll try to be more natural, not force things, and just be open. Again, happy birthday!
Currently watching Abbott Elementary too! Such a comfort series, all of them are my besties atp!😂
You write so beautifully Treasure, I always look forward to your pieces. Adding a Toni Morrison book to my tbr right now, I think I need her magic touch in my life.

Serendipity Farming, that's such a cool phrase. You have to plant and nurture opportunities for serendipity
Yes you should!
